About Us
Hello, and welcome to the short story of our NDIS journey!
We’re Rod and Martina, and our family lives in Bendigo, Victoria. While a couple of our children have ‘left the nest’, we do still have some living with us at home, and always will. One of our sons is living in full-time care nearby — you can see him in the photos on this page, although he’s a lot bigger now!
Our children’s needs taught us a lot about dealing with therapists, the government and other ‘helping’ organisations. They didn’t always help, and often the resulting hassles were worse than the help we got! We spent a lot of time frustrated, confused, exhausted and overwhelmed. Sound familiar?
Most of the helpful information we got came from other parents or people with disabilities themselves. Martina practically lived on Autism Facebook groups to find useful information. Especially when the NDIS came in – what a learning curve that was for us! We were thankful for what people shared with us and have always tried to pass that on to others. That’s why we started OnTime Plan Services – we wanted to help others by sharing what we learnt in our NDIS journey.
Rod worked in the finance industry for 20 years, and Martina was a full-time homeschool mum for most of that time. We lived in beautiful (but damp) Huonville, Tasmania, before moving to Bendigo. We learnt quickly that a lot of services just weren’t available when you don’t live in a big city. Word of mouth can be important when your choices are limited! Our clients will often ask us where they can find a good therapist, or who would be a good fit for their special needs child. That’s why we try to stay up to date on service providers in Bendigo, so we can help our clients find the right supports.

Some of the things we do that are a bit different to other plan managers
- We know not everyone likes to talk on the phone. We’re happy to email or text you instead.
- We are also happy to meet with you in person. We have an office in Eaglehawk, or can meet you anywhere in Greater Bendigo.
- We will take you through your plan funding and help you understand what you can use it for. A bite at a time so it doesn’t overwhelm you.
Our team at OnTime has grown and is no longer just Rod and Martina. Most of us have lived experience with a disability, and usually also with the NDIS. You won’t need to explain things to us over and over because we know our clients and want to help them.
